I’m a 40-year-old new mum trying to live up to the mum I thought I’d be — and the one everyone else seems to expect. Spoiler: I’m not quite nailing either.

Somewhere between the sleepless nights and the self-doubt, I’ve failed and succeeded in wildly unequal measure. But along the way, I’ve picked up some hard-won truths and practical little hacks that have made life (and motherhood) just a bit easier.
